India take two quick wickets, push Sri Lanka on the backfoot
April 2nd, 2011 - 7:21 pm ICT by IANSMumbai, April 2 (IANS) India took two quick wickets to leave Sri Lanka at 182/5 after 39.5 overs in the World Cup final here Saturday.
Yuvraj Singh got his second wicket when he trapped Thilan Samaraweera leg before. Zaheer Khan then removed Chamara Kapugedera (1), caught by Suresh Raina.
Samaraweera (21) was struck on the leg as he went for a big sweep but missed the ball. Umpire Simon Taufel rejected the appeal but India went for a review which showed that the ball was hitting he middle stump. Samaraweera and Mahela Jayawardene shared a 57-run stand.
Kapugedera soon made his way to the hut, giving a simple catch to Raina at short extra cover.
