India lose to China in Sudirman Cup badminton
May 26th, 2011 - 9:27 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, May 26 (IANS) India lost 1-3 to China in the quarterfinal of the Sudirman Cup badminton championship in Qingdao, China, Thursday.
According to information received here, Yun Cai and Haifeng Fu beat Sanave Thomas and Rupesh Kumar 21-15, 21-14 to give China a 1-0 lead.
Saina Nehwal pulled one back for India, beating World No.3 Xin Wang 21-15, 21-11.
Parupalli Kashyap gave a good account of himself and stretched World No.3 and Olympic champion Lin Dan before losing 14-21, 14-21 in 33 minutes.
Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa were no match for World No.1 Xiaoli Wang and Yang Yu and went down 8-21, 13-21.
