India clubbed with Pakistan in hockey World Cup
December 15th, 2009 - 7:45 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )New Delhi, Dec 15 (IANS) Eight-time Olympic champions India have been clubbed with four-time winners and arch-rivals Pakistan in the Hero Honda Hockey World Cup to be played here from Feb 28 to March 13 at the National Stadium.
India and Pakistan are in Pool B with Australia, Spain, England and South Africa.
Defending champions Germany are the top seed and are in Pool A with the Netherlands, South Korea, New Zealand, Canada and Argentina.
India will be hosting the tournament for the first time since the 1978 World Cup in Bombay.
Pool A: Germany, Netherlands, South Korea, New Zealand, Canada, Argentina.
Pool B: Australia, Spain, England, Pakistan, India, South Africa.
