Chennai, March 29 (IANS) India were bowled out for 627 in their first innings, a lead of 87 runs, in reply to South Africa’s 540, on the fourth day of the opening Test at the M.A. Chidambaram stadium here Saturday. Virender Sehwag (319) and Rahul Dravid (111), who reached the 10,000 run milestone Saturday, were the main scorers for the hosts. V.V.S Laxman (39) was the last batsman to fall.
After resuming at overnight 468 for one, India lost nine wickets Saturday. Dale Steyn was the pick of the South African bowlers, claiming four wickets for 103 runs.
