India beat West Indies in second ODI
June 9th, 2011 - 5:59 am ICT by IANSPort of Spain, June 9 (IANS) India defeated the West Indies by seven wickets on the Duckworth-Lewis method in the rain affected second One-day International at the Queen’s Park Oval here Wednesday.
India scored 183 for 3 and beat West Indies (240 for 9) via D/L method with 20 balls remaining.
Virat Kohli top-scored with 81 runs off 103 balls, while Parthiv Patel struck 56 off 64 balls. S. Dhawan was out for 3. Suresh Raina and Rohit Sharma remained not out at 27 and 7 respectively.
Ramnaresh Sarwan scored 56 runs in what was his second fifty in a row while opener Lendl Simmons struck 53 for West Indies.
Leg-spinner Amit Mishra was the pick of the Indian bowlers, taking four wickets for 31 runs.
This was the second ODI of the five match series between the two sides being played at the Queen’s Park Oval.
