I’m not a cheat but I’m Thierry Henry fan, insists David N’Gog

London, Dec. 9 (ANI): Liverpool striker David N’Gog, who was caught up in controversy when he went to ground and won a late penalty against Birmingham, has insisted that he is not a cheat despite being a fan of Hand of Frog Thierry Henry.
Ngog was slammed after tumbling under Lee Carsley’s challenge to hand the Reds a spot-kick equaliser.
“I know criticism is part of football but it was unfair because I’m not that kind of player. I just tried to jump him and not to be touched. It happened so fast and I didn’t think of getting a penalty,” The Sun quoted Henry, as saying.
“But I don’t really think about that now. I just try and stay in a positive frame of mind to improve my game,” he added.
Revealing his side of story, Ngog also disclosed that his idol is Thierry Henry - whose handball against the Republic of Ireland caused worldwide outrage last month.
“I know Fernando is one of the best in the world and just watching him is a great example for me. He’s also given me lots of advice and been a big help.
“But the one I really looked up to as a youngster was Henry because he’s French! He is the best in the world, especially when he won the 1998 World Cup,” he said. (ANI)
