Illinois Team Wins Over Kent State Team In NIT Bracket On Monday

basketChampaign, March 23, (THAINDIAN NEWS) On Monday night, the National Invitation Tournament (NIT) took an interesting turn in the second half of the game between team Illinois and Kent State. The Illinois team defeated the Kent State team with the final scores of 75-58 and a brilliant performance in the second half. Both the teams shared the same score before the break. The score of both the teams at break was 31.

After the return in the second half, team Illinois managed to get the lead with Demetri McCamey, the point guard player of the team taking the charge and leading the team within five minutes into the second with an 8-0 lead. Kent State could not manage well and had three turnovers. Demetri McCamey became part of Illinois basketball team history after ending the game with personal 15 points and 10 assists. He has to his credit now the record of 1200 points and 500 assists in just three seasons. After winning the game, Mike Davis said that while the team was a little slow in the first half, in the second half they took the pace and the shots were put well. The coach of the Illinois was elated with the team’s performance but also regretted that the team could not make it to the NCAA tournament.

One of the most popular basketball games, National Invitation Tournament, which started in March 16, will end on April 1. The final game will be played at New York’s Madison Square Garden. This year too some brilliant basketball games are being witnessed. Some unexpected defeats and some expected wins made the games all the more exciting.
