I’ll be with Man U until I am in my thirties, says Rooney

London, Mar 17(ANI): Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has quashed rumours of a rift with manager Sir Alex Ferguson, and that he would leave the club this year.
Reports claimed that Rooney’s future was in doubt - despite signing a new five-year contract worth 250,000 pounds a week in October - because of a growing rift with Ferguson.
“I didn’t know anything about it until I was on the way home from training on Sunday. I stopped off to get petrol and a few people asked me if I was leaving in the summer. I’ve never heard such rubbish in my life. I get angry when people question my commitment to the club. I’ll be here until I am in my thirties, that’s for sure,” the Daily Express quoted Rooney, as saying.
“My relationship with Sir Alex has no problems whatsoever. I’m enjoying my football here and if I was going to leave in the summer I wouldn’t have signed a new contract when I did.”
“I intend to see it through to the end. Unless United ever say I’m not wanted, I’ll be staying,” he added.
The 25-year-old further said that he aims to win more trophies and bring more success to United.
“I’ve admitted a lot of times that I made a mistake by saying I wanted to leave, but I’ve committed my future to United. I’m happy, my family are happy, so there’s no reason for me to move elsewhere,” Rooney said. (ANI)
