Ian Thorpe to make acting debut
June 17th, 2010 - 1:22 pm ICT by ANIMelbourne, June 17 (ANI): Former freestyle swimmer Ian Thorpe is all set to mark his acting debut by playing a serial killer with a conscience.
Thorpe will be performing with many other celebrities in a one-off performance of Australian playwright David Williamson’s renamed play ‘Emerald City’, to raise funds for their chosen charities.
The play, renamed One Night Only In Emerald City, features 11 celebrity performers, who were asked to nominate modify their personalities for the special event.
Olympic champion, Thorpe, will play the character of a serial killer with a conscience.
“I’m looking forward to seeing Ian Thorpe playing a serial killer,” the Herald Sun quoted fellow performer Mikey Robins as saying.
He added: “it’s just a wonderfully bizarre idea”. (ANI)
