I-League: Chirag Kerala take on Mumbai FC
May 5th, 2012 - 7:34 pm ICT by IANSKochi, May 5 (IANS) Knowing that they won’t play any part in the next season’s I-League, Chirag United Kerala play Mumbai FC Sunday at the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium in the final round of the 2011-12 competition.
The club will be hoping to at least to salvage some pride as they feature in front of their home crowd for one last time in the league this season.
Mumbai FC are on 24 points from 25 matches while Chirag who have already been relegated are on 17 points from 25 matches.
Five straight losses coming into this match, Chirag could draw inspiration from the fact that they have had a better head-to-head record against Mumbai FC winning three of the last five encounters between them. Last time they met, Mumbai lost 0-2 at their home in January 2012.
