‘I am better, but Vettel is winning due to his much quicker car,’ says Hamilton

London, Apr 16 (ANI): Formula One ace Lewis Hamilton has said that he is a better driver than current champion Sebastian Vettel, and added that the German is only beating him as he has a much quicker car.

Hamilton has seen Vettel launch the defence of his drivers’ crown with victories in the opening two races for Red Bull.

“There is still quite a step we have to make with the gap to their car. On true pace we are behind at the moment. But, to him, I do not think I have to make a step,” The Sun quoted Hamilton, as saying.

“I think I could have challenged for the win in Malaysia if we had not had problems with the strategy and tyres. But I am not under any pressure. We have only had two races and there is a long, long way to go yet,” he said.

“Things can change drastically at the front and I am sure we will catch them up. When we do, then you’ll see me winning,” he added.

Hamilton was second fastest in practice yesterday for tomorrow’s Chinese Grand Prix as Vettel once again set the pace.

Fellow McLaren driver Jenson Button posted the third quickest time. (ANI)
