Huge chance for Black Caps to regain Chappell-Hadlee Trophy: Bond

Melbourne, Feb 24 (ANI): New Zealand fast bowler Shane Bond has delivered a verbal bouncer by saying that Australia has received an easy run all summer and it is all set to end.

Bond claimed that the Black Caps have a huge chance to regain the Chappell-Hadlee Trophy.

“Even though (Australia) have played bloody well they’ve had a relatively easy run in terms of the pressure they’ve been put under,” Bond said.

“Hopefully we can put them under some huge pressure and I think if we do that we’ve got a huge chance,” The Herald Sun quoted Bond, as saying.

Bond missed the recent Bangladesh series to rest an abdominal tear, which saw him call time on his Test career, but after several outings for his province he said he felt ready for the T20s and Chappell-Hadlee series.

Injuries have restricted him to just one ODI against Australia in the past three years.

Michael Clarke will lead the tourists in the tour-opening T20s, and Ponting will join in for the first ODI in Napier next week to resume his fight with Bond who has dismissed him six times in 10 ODI meetings.

“It’s been a while since I got him out … but against those blokes I always believe if I bowl as well as I can then I’ll have success. That’s all I’ve tried to do, bowl my best stuff and keep coming hard at them because they’ll come hard back,” said Bond. (ANI)
