‘Hosts’ India will be under more pressure than Pak in World Cup semi-final: Imran
March 27th, 2011 - 3:23 pm ICT by ANIKolkata, Mar 27(ANI): India will be under immense pressure in the much-awaited World Cup semi-final match against Pakistan in Mohali on March 30, former captain Imran Khan has said.
“I am not playing any mind games. But as India are playing on home ground, the pressure will be definitely more on them,” The Nation quoted Imran, as saying on the sidelines of a promotional event.
Expectations are high in the cricket-crazy region for a high voltage Indo-Pak encounter on Wednesday in Mohali for a slot in the World Cup final match to be held at Mumbai on April 2.
Imran, who led Pakistan to their only World Cup triumph in 1992, feels that the team that handles the pressure better will win the crucial match.
“It will be an even match. Actually the game will be about handling the pressure. Whichever team handles the pressure in a better way has the best chance of winning the match,” he stated.
The 58-year-old, however, feels that the consistent Indian team is the favourite to win the 2011 World Cup. (ANI)
