November 22nd, 2009 - 2:20 pm ICT by ANILondon, Nov.22 (ANI): Two hoods have stolen England and Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney’s 30,000 pound sporty black C220 Mercedes.
The robbery occurred after Rooney’s dad left the keys of the car inside at a Liverpool petrol station.
A shocked Wayne senior just gasped: “They’ve just robbed my car.”
News of The World quoted Waseem Hussain, 40, who was also paying for petrol at Tesco at 8 a.m. yesterday, as saying: “I saw two lads wearing hoodies jump over a wall. They just got in his car and drove off. Wayne’s dad stood in the shop in a state of shock. He told me he left the keys in the ignition and I told him he wouldn’t be insured. He was proper shook up. He was shaking and getting red.”
Waseem, 40, drove Wayne back to his million pound home in the Sandfield Park area.
Cops have asked for CCTV footage to view a replay.
Merseyside Police said: “We hope to trace the offenders.” (ANI)
