Hockey World Cup: Spain lead India 2-0 at half time
March 4th, 2010 - 11:03 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, March 4 (IANS) Spain were leading 2-0 at half time against India in their crucial Pool B match of the Hockey World cup here Thursday.Spain’s Albert Sala scored the first goal while skipper Pol Amat added to the tally just at the stroke of first half.
Both teams played a fast-paced game and got a measure of each other’s defences.
Spanish goal-keeper Francisco Cortes made two brilliant saves, first stopping Sandeep Singh penalty corner strike and then palming out the rebound shot from Sardara Singh.
India made some good moves but failed to give these the finishing touch.
