Hockey World Cup: Spain beat India 5-2

New Delhi, March 4 (IANS) Spain beat India 5-2 in their crucial Pool B match of the Hockey World cup at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium here Thursday.
Spain’s Albert Sala scored the first goal while skipper Pol Amat added to the tally at the stroke of first half. In the second session, Pau Quemada scored twice by converting penalty corners, while Ramon Alegre scored once.

Sandeep Singh (penalty corner) and Gurwinder Singh Chandi scored for India, reducing the margin of defeat.

Spanish goal-keeper Francisco Cortes made several brilliant saves, to thwart the Indian moves.
