Hockey World Cup: Germany outclass England to enter final
March 11th, 2010 - 9:17 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, March 11 (IANS) Eyeing a hat-trick of titles, Germany outclassed England 4-1 to cruise into the final of the Hockey World Cup at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium here Thursday.
Jan-Marco Montag and Oliver Korn gave Germany a 2-0 lead before Richard Smith converted a penalty corner for England to reduce the margin.
However, Germany’s Martin Haner slotted home to make it 3-1 before the half-time.
Two-time champions Germany added one more through Linus Butt in the second session to put it well beyond England.
