Hockey coach Nobbs gets a salary hike
February 27th, 2012 - 7:33 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Feb 27 (IANS) Indian men’s hockey coach Michael Nobbs received a pay hike Monday after the national team qualified for the 2012 London Games.
The sports ministry hiked Nobbs salary by a $1000 (Aus) to $11,000 with immediate effect for his achievement in helping the team qualify for London.
Eight-time Olympic champions India qualified for the Games having missed 2008 Beijing for the first time in 80 years.
India beat France 8-1 in the final of the qualifiers at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium here Sunday.
