Shimla, July 16 (IANS) Himachal Pradesh will host the paragliding pre-world cup in October at Bir-Billing, 300 km from here, in Kangra district. Tourism Secretary Manisha Nanda told IANS Wednesday that the Aero Club of India has given permission to hold the event.
The first pre-world cup was held in the hill state in 2002.
Bir-Billing is considered to be one of the finest aero sports sites in the world and has been attracting a large number of foreign pilots.
Nanda said a technical committee with representatives from the Aero Club of India and Paragliding World Cup Association, France, would check the equipment being used to ensure that it is in good condition and as per the international standards.
