Himachal to host National Indoor Games 2010
December 14th, 2009 - 11:59 am ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Shimla, Dec 14 (IANS) The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has decided to hold the National Indoor Games 2010 in Himachal Pradesh, an organiser said Monday. This is the first time the games would be organised in the state.
“The IOA at its meeting Saturday granted permission to the Himachal Olympic Association (HPOA) to hold the 2010 National Indoor Games in Himachal Pradesh,” HPOA secretary general Anurag Thakur told IANS.
He said the games would be held at various venues, but mainly in the newly built indoor stadium in Dharamsala, about 250 km from state capital Shimla.
“The schedule of the games would be decided in the next meeting of the IOA. A sum of Rs.50 crore would be spent for creating and improving the infrastructure,” he added.
