HI presents Rs.2.5 lakhs to Baljit Singh
January 15th, 2010 - 9:55 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Jan 15 (IANS) Hockey India (HI) Friday presented a cheque of Rs.2.5 lakhs to goalkeeper Baljit Sigh for his rehabilitation after his eye injury.
Baljit, who sustained the career threatening injury at the national camp in Pune last year, had Thursday appealed to Sports Minister M.S. Gill and HI for his continued treatment as promised by them.
Baljit was sent to the US for treatment and surgery but on Thursday claimed that he was called back mid-way.
The cheque was handed over to his relatives by the HI president Ashok Kumar Mattoo.
