Hayden Simpson Goes To Chicago Cubs

hatden Monday night turned out with some surprising results for the Southern Arkansas University right-hander Hayden Simpson who was drafted in the very first round by the Chicago Cubs club at the Major Baseball League first-year player 2010.

Hayden Simpson who had played for the Southern Arkansas University for three years bears an impressive career records and was reportedly recommended by the area scout Jim Crawford.

The Chicago Cubs picked Hayden Simpson at the 16th overall pick.

The 6-foot tall and 175-pound 21-year Hayden Simpson ended his 2010 season at the Southern Arkansas University with an ERA of 1.81in 15 starts and a record of 13-1. In the 15 stars, are included his six complete games and three shutouts. He had 131 strikeouts during 2010 season.

After drafting the player on Monday night the scouting director Tim Wilken said to media sources that he feels that Hayden Simpson has the potential to become a major league starter.

He added that the team management had a very good report and coverage of Hayden Simpson and that Hayden Simpson has to his credit “four above-average plus-pitches”. According to Tim Wilken, Hayden Simpson is a very “athletic pitcher” who has a “good feel for pitching”.

Tim Wilken compared Hayden Simpson to Roy Oswalt of the Houston Astros and San Fracisco Giant’s Tim Lincecum.

As for Hayden Simpson, the player was surprised to get picked in the very first round of the draft pick. He said to media sources that he was expecting a pick in between the second and the fifth round draft pick.

On Monday night the player said that he is thrilled with the pick and is excited to head for the Chicago Cubs team.
