Have to bowl differently against every team: Kreza
February 18th, 2011 - 9:20 pm ICT by IANSAhmedabad, Feb 18 (IANS) Australian spinner Jason Kreza said variation will be the key for tweakers on the sub-continent pitches during the cricket World Cup.Kreza has been working hard with the team management, taking a good look at video footage and getting tips from batting coach Justin Langer and bowling consultant Troy Cooley.
“I am going through a lot of videos and have been taking tips from all the senior guys, especially Langer and Cooley. I am looking forward to the first match. We have to take it game by game. I have to bowl differently against every team and that is how it could work,” said Kreza, who is the only specialist spinner in the team.
Defending champions Australia open their campaign against Zimbabwe here Monday.
Kreza said he is ready for the match.
“I think I’m ready. I’ve just got to play now. I’m going to give my best. I am the only specialist spinner in the side and if Steve Smith is bowling well and they are only going to play him and a couple of part-timers, then so be it. I’ve just got to be bowling well,” he said.
Asked how he took his dropping from the Test side after picking up 13 wickets in his last two Tests, Kreza said: “That’s how cricket goes.”
“You can get dropped, you can get picked up out of the blue. I got dropped from the Test team and here I am again out of nowhere. You can only get stronger from the more experiences that you’ve had,” he said.
