Hauritz happy to wait for his turnFebruary 3rd, 2009 - 3:03 pm ICT by ANI
Sydney, Feb.3 (ANI): Australian off-spinner Nathan Hauritz has said that he is prepared to wait for his turn to turn out for the national squad, and has become immune to the speculation, opinion and criticism swallowing Australian cricket. “Coming from being picked in a Test match after being 12th man for NSW the week before, I”m not worried about the pecking order or anything like that,” Hauritz said as NSW defeated Tasmania by 114 runs yesterday on the final day of the Sheffield Shield match at Newcastle No.1 Sports Ground.
“At the end of the day, it’’s out of my control what the selectors do,” the Sydney Morning Herald quoted Hauritz as saying with the Australian Test squad to tour South Africa to be named tomorrow.
“Ask me at the start of the season what I wanted to be doing and this is it. I definitely think I was being pigeon-holed as a one-day bowler so to have the chance to play a lot of four-and five-day cricket, it’’s exciting. I enjoy it. There are probably three or four guys they”re looking at. I”m happy with what I”m doing. That’’s all I can ask for,” Hauritz said. (ANI)
