Hasan Raza confident of solving Pakistan’s batting problems
November 30th, 2009 - 4:01 pm ICT by ANI ( Leave a comment )Lahore, Nov 30(ANI): With the Pakistan team struggling against New Zealand and a tough tour of Australia coming up, former Pakistan batsman Hasan Raza has said that he is confident of solving team’s batting problems.
Raza has been consistently doing well in the domestic tournaments, and is captaining Habib Bank Limited in the Quaid E Azam Trophy following the absence of Shahid Afridi and Younus Khan.
“If I am given a consistent run in the Pakistan side, then I am totally confident that I can score well in Australia,” Pakpassion.net quoted Hasan, as saying.
“I’ve been in good form this season and scored nearly 600 runs at an average of nearly 55, including five half centuries and one century. I’ve come across some very difficult surfaces and my best innings of the season so far was the 124 in the last match against a very good PIA bowling attack,” he added.
The 27-year-old, who last played for Pakistan four years ago, also insisted that he has matured as cricketer than when he last played.
“I’m 27 now and I’m a far more complete batsman these days. I have scored over 11,000 runs in domestic cricket having played nearly 170 matches and captaining Habib Bank this season has really helped me develop as a cricketer,” Raza said.
“The tour of Australia will be a tough one and one that I think needs the more experienced players in the team. I am confident that I can do very well in Australia, if I am given a chance,” he added. (ANI)
