Harrison Barnes Ames, Nov 12 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Harrison Barnes is the No. 1-ranked basketball recruit in the nation because of his amazing play and his agility. And Harrison is being courted by numerous by top-notch universities and hall-of-fame basketball coaches who want him to come and play for them.

Two Hall of Fame basketball coaches, Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski and North Carolina’s Roy Williams, were in his hometown so that they could persuade the 6-foot-8 small forward, to come and play for them, and not for the opposition.

At the moment, he has to make the final choice from these six - ISU, North Carolina, Duke, Kansas, UCLA and Oklahoma. Even his own family and close friends have no clues about where he is going. They all will find out Friday afternoon, they say, along with a gym full of curious spectators and media and a live television audience on ESPNU. According to the Des Moines Register, Barnes will sign his letter of intent shortly after 4 p.m. Eastern time Friday at Ames High School, with at least part of his ceremony televised by ESPNU.

“This young man has been extremely humble through this entire ordeal,” Vance Downs, the varsity boy’s basketball coach at Ames High School in Iowa said. “And that to me says as much about who Harrison Barnes is as his basketball talents.”
