London, Mar 25 (ANI): Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves, who is continuing his comeback from double knee surgery that has seen him miss the last 18 months of his career, has revealed that he needs painkilling injections to get him through training and games.

The 18 million pound England player admitted that he still does not know if he will ever be pain free.

Hargreaves, 29, is expected to make his second appearance for United reserves tonight at Accrington after playing 45 minutes against Burnley last week.

“I wouldn’t say I am pain free. I am still getting injections to manage it,” The Sun quoted Hargreaves, as saying.

“It’s been pretty humbling and hopefully I can learn from it, go forward and ideally play another eight or nine years.

“It was very severe. I shouldn’t have been playing when I was playing,” he added. (ANI)
