New Delhi, Oct 11 (IANS) Harbhajan Singh and Yuvraj Singh have rubbished the claims of Pakistani cricket agent Mazhar Majeed, who is being tried for spot-fixing charges at a London court, that he had access to these two Indian cricketers.

The tape of Majeed bragging to the undercover reporter, Mazhar Mahmood of the now defunct tabloid News of the World, was played in the London court where he said he “had access to Harbhajan and Yuvraj”.

The tape was played during the fourth day of the trial of former Pakistan captain Salman Butt and pacer Mohammad Asif, who are alleged to have bowled predetermined no-balls for cash.

Both Harbhajan and Yuvraj denied knowing Majeed.

“Who is he (Majeed)? Such remarks are nothing but rubbish. We will bring to the notice of the BCCI, who will take necessary course of action against this fellow,” Harbhajan said from Nagpur, where he is playing in the Challenge series.

Yuvraj echoed similar sentiments. “And who is Majid!! absolute rubbish! Don’t no never met!,” Yuvraj wrote on the social networking site Twitter.

“The problem in india is if some one says a rooster has given an egg it will become news !! Whether its true or not its doesn’t matter.”

Majeed told Mahmood that he had several Pakistan players under his control, including Salman Butt, brothers Kamran and Umar Akmal, and Shoaib Malik and “had access” to other star cricketers like Chris Gayle, Brett Lee, Ricky Ponting.

He also accused the Australian players of being the “biggest” match-fixers in the world cricket.

Cricket Australia dismissed the claims as “outlandish”.
