Hanley Ramirez Misses Home Run Derby Trophy By Seven Runs

Anaheim, July 13, (THAINDIAN NEWS) It was the Dominican duo who stole the show on Monday night at the Angel Stadium. If David Ortiz went for the trophy of the Home Run Derby then the person who gave him a tough competition till the second round was none other than another Dominican, Hanley Ramirez who plays for the Florida Marlins. The whole game was full of ups and downs while at the first round it was Hanley Ramirez who led; in the second round David Ortiz came up with a good show and matched the score with Hanley Ramirez. The third round was made exciting as it turned out to be a decisive round for the win.
Hanley Ramirez scored 25 homers in total and feel short by 7 runs to make it to the trophy. In the first round he was able to score nine homers while David Ortiz was trailing behind by one homer. In the second round Hanley Ramirez came up with some brilliant homer shots that went above the left-field wall. The player added 12 more points to his existing nine making it 21. However, he faced a tough competition from David Ortiz who scored enough to tie the score.
In the third round Hanley Ramirez could not manage to provide the lead, and failed miserably in six of the seven last swings. He could not catch up, hit three straight and ended the round by managing another from the last seven swings of which he made outs in six. At the end of the Home Run Derby, Hanley Ramirez appreciated David Ortiz for his play and added that the latter needed the win.
