EaglesPatriotsAfter their fairy tale marriage and a gritty love affair, Hank Baskett and Kendra Williams would have possibly thought that they ‘would live happily ever after’. But Baskett’s former boss ensured that doesn’t happen, as the Eagles’ receiver Baskett was reportedly released from the team as a part of this season’s roster.

According to sources, the exemption of Baskett from the team suggests that the room has been made for the shamed quarterback Michael Vick, who was reappointed by the Eagle’s only last month, and was activated from the exempt list. Sources revealed that the Eagles receiver i.e. Baskett’s release was announced soon after the Eagles failed to trade him on Monday night. A disappointed and shattered Baskett said, “I am not speaking about it.” On the other hand, quarterback Michael Vick, who has been activated from the exempt list, now can fully participate in the practice sessions of the Eagles. It seems that the decision of releasing Baskett from Eagles came as a blessing in disguise for Vick, who was resigned by the Eagles at last month.

The release of Baskett also suggests that the Eagles believe that wide receiver Reggie Brown is more reliable and certainly better than their former receiver Hank Baskett, although Reggie didn’t play for the Sunday’s season opener against the Carolina Panthers. According to a source close to the team, the coaching staff’s decision to play Baskett on Sunday’s match against Carolina was entirely based on his value on special teams.

Baskett joined Eagles as a rookie free agent in the year 2006.
