Hamilton’s “enthusiasm just overflowing” despite disappointing F1 season
May 28th, 2010 - 5:21 pm ICT by ANILondon, May 28(ANI): Despite some disappointing results this season, McLaren Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton is adamant that he is enjoying the challenge of trying to win his second world title.
Hamilton trails joint championship leaders Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel by 19 points, but insists he has enough time to overhaul the Red Bull duo.
“Even though I’ve had a much more comfortable car to drive this season, it’s not been the best year in terms of results, but in terms of races I’ve been enjoying it and as long as you enjoy the races then you can kind of get by, no problems,” The Daily Star quoted Hamilton, as saying.
“If you’re not enjoying it and you’re not winning, then it sucks, but it’s not like that. I’m enjoying the chase and, with 13 races to go, I still know I can win and I still know with enough work from myself and the team that we can close that gap and catch up. The enthusiasm is just overflowing,” he added.
Meanwhile, talking about his girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger winning the US version of Strictly Come Dancing, the 25-year-old said: “I did get to see the most incredible performance she put on of the Argentine tango, under all that pressure. It was unbelievable, so unreal.”
“She got a standing ovation and I was incredibly proud. It’s cool to be able to go and support your partner and see them succeed, but I didn’t get to see her win,” he added. (ANI)
