Hamilton sure his time in the sun has come
April 23rd, 2010 - 6:28 pm ICT by ANILondon, Apr 23(ANI): McLaren Formula One racing driver Lewis Hamilton reckons he is close to joining team-mate Jenson Button on the winners podium this season.
Hamilton also believes that McLaren will continue their winning ways at the next round in Spain.
“We have a lot of developments in the pipeline; we’ve got quite a few changes for Barcelona and I think we can be right up there,” The Mirror quoted Hamilton, as saying.
The 25-year-old further feels he has raced superbly in the four races so far this year - making 32 overtaking manoeuvres, 12 of them in China alone, to Button’s seven - and has only been let down by his qualifying pace and team mistakes. “We still really need to focus on our qualifying pace: we made some improvements in China, but there’s still a way to go. We’ll get there though,” Hamilton said.
“Most of all, I know I can win races in this car - the car still feels so planted, more than any Formula 1 car I’ve driven, and I’m sure those victories will come,” he added.
Hamilton is currently 11 points behind Button going into the European season. (ANI)
