Haddin backs struggling Lee to bounce back with a vengeanceDecember 22nd, 2008 - 3:20 pm ICT by ANI
Sydney, Dec 22 (ANI): Australian wicketkeeper Brad Haddin has backed struggling fast bowler Brett Lee to return to form soon.
Haddin said Lee is still hitting the gloves as hard as ever, but just not as often.
Lee has been criticised for taking single wicket in Australias six-wicket loss to South Africa in the first Test at the WACA Ground, the Courier Mail reported.
But Haddin defended his NSW teammate today, saying Lee still unleashed his lightning-quick spells but was just choosing the right times to do it.
I have kept to Brett for a long time. The spell he bowled on day four showed its still there and that was an encouraging sign from him. Day four was a very good spell and they were hitting the gloves as they have done over time, Haddin said.
With Australia 1-0 down in the series ahead of the Boxing Day Test at the MCG, Haddin warned South Africa to be wary of the wounded beast.
We are not going to roll over, I can give you that. Obviously 1-0 down - it puts more excitement on such a big series. I think the important thing out of it is weve got a contest and this is what everyones been craving, he said. (ANI)
