Gutted Flintoff heading back to ‘Blighty’ from Dubai to watch favourite soap
December 10th, 2010 - 2:24 pm ICT by ANILondon, Dec.10 (ANI): Former England cricketer Andrew Flintoff may move back to Britain from Dubai because he misses the tram crash special Corrie.
Flintoff moved to Dubai to be well placed for the Indian Premier League Twenty20 matches, but he quit cricket in September because of injury. Flintoff said he felt wretched after missing the soap’s 50th anniversary on Monday, a dramatic episode, which was viewed by about 14 million people.
Flintoff, 33, went on Twitter to ask: “Did anyone see Corrie? Have to wait six months for the show!”
According to The Sun, he also missed last night’s live episode, and tweeted: “Can’t get it online either. Gutted. Apparently the special effects are up there with Avatar. It’s a reason to move back to Blighty.”
His followers on the social networking website, including World No 1 golfer Lee Westwood, offered computer advice.
But Freddie, from Preston, Lancs, said: “Thanks for all your useless information. Will have to wait till the 16th, when I come home.”
Last month he revealed his dream job would be as landlord of the Rovers Return. (ANI)
