Gus Malzahn Hired As The New Vanderbilt Commodores Coach

gusDec 13, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Amidst all the changes in teams of the players and coaches for the new season, there is one other joining the list. The latest buzz doing the football rounds is that of Gus Malzahn joining the Vanderbilt Commodores. Yes it has been confirmed that the defensive coordinator of the Auburn Tigers will be assuming the role of the head coach of the Vanderbilt Commodores from this day itself. A Vanderbilt Commodores spokesperson had earlier confirmed that the former Auburn Tigers defensive coordinator will be taking his role of the new head coach of the Vanderbilt Commodores.

After the news was confirmed on Sunday, it was undoubtedly come as a big disappointment for Maryland Terrapins offensive coordinator James Franklin who is also the head coach in waiting. The dreams that James Franklin had harbored in his heart was that very soon he would make it as the head coach. James Franklin was preferably the second choice for the Vanderbilt Commodores for the role of the head coach. James Franklin has been waiting for quite some time and was expecting a call from the Vanderbilt Commodores. However, Gus Malzahn got lucky and grabbed the offer. A source close to the Vanderbilt Commodores said that the team had reportedly offered the new coach a contract of almost $3 million for every single year.

It has come across that though the contract has been made but it is still pending in the matter of legal documentations. According to sources, Gus Malzahn although has joined the job verbally but he is yet to sign the contract on papers. Vanderbilt Commodores authorities have said that they will be doing that as soon as possible.
