Guatemalan motocross champion shot dead
September 21st, 2009 - 9:56 am ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Guatemala City, Sep 21 (DPA) Oscar Diaz, a 22-year-old motocross driver, was shot dead Sunday in Guatemala, hours after winning the first stage of the National Motocross Championship, police said.
Police were unclear of the motive or the assailants, but said that Diaz’s two companions - Lewis Boniel, a 20-year-old Costa Rican driver and Carlos Zuniga, a 30-year-old Guatemalan mechanic - were injured in the attack.
The three were returning to Guatemala City from the Entre Volcanes track in Alotenango.
