Dec. 06, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Alabama’s win against the Florida Gators may almost completely be attributed to the quarterback of the Alabama team, Greg McElroy. His spectacular performance in the match has catapulted him into almost overnight, or rather, over the match, stardom. Throughout the match, he was dynamic, and in fact, he was the one who fired it up a bit when things were looking really cold for the Alabama team.

He began his magic in the first quarter of the match when he made a pass to Julio Jones, the wide receiver for the team, that led to an 18 yard gain. Soon, he was seen running for seven yards, scoring the first touchdown. He continued to display more of his skill, and soon had given his team a nice comfortable lead of 3-0, with his pass of eight yards, something that Alabama did not let go till the end. He made 12 of the 18 passes all by himself. Greg McElroy was crowned the Most Valuable Player in the team.

What makes Greg McElroy’s performance all the more attention grabbing is that he had never been known to be so dynamic. Dependable, certainly, but definitely not the player who can carry the whole weight of the match on his shoulders. Particularly, all week in the matches in the SEC Championship games, he had not quite lived up even to the usual merit that is expected of him. He broke the mold in the game on Saturday, proving that he can be touted as the next best thing in college football.
