Washington, Aug 12 (THAINDIAN NEWS) World champions Green Bay Packers will be at the White House on Friday. The visit of the team comes about six months after they snatched the crown from the Steelers in a dramatic Super Bowl at the Dallas Cowboy Stadium in Texas. The visit was delayed because of the recent NFL lockout which threatened the commencement of the new season.

According to cornerback and defensive leader Charles Woodson, the visit has been the dream of the team since they won the Super Bowl. He revealed that, “It’s good to finally get that under way. The guys on the team have been waiting for that to happen, so finally, it’ll be good to get our chance to visit.”

Ryan Pickett added his comment saying that, “I don’t know if we’ll actually have a tour or what, but you know, it’s exciting to anyone who wins the Super Bowl to go meet the president. So that’s a great thing.”

The NFL season was threatened with the lockout which lasted several months. The conflict was resolved and shortly after their visit to the White House, the Packers will head to Cleveland where they will have their first preseason match.
