Feb 7, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Green Bay Packers have done it. Yes, the team once again has successfully brought the trophy home. It is nothing else than the Vince Lombardi Trophy that gives the Green Bay Packers boys a rush for everything. Why not, for the prestigious trophy is one that has been renamed after the legendary Green Bay Packers head coach Vince Lombardi who had a sudden death due to cancer.
After last night’s finale for the title of the Super Bowl XLV champions, the Green Bay Packers restored the honor once again to their side by clinching the Vince Lombardi Trophy which is awarded to the winning team of the Super Bowl. The Packers notched the victory after ousting the Pittsburgh Steelers, who although have the maximum number of the Vince Lombardi Trophies, at number six. While the second position is jointly shared by San Francisco 49ers and the Dallas Cowboys with five trophies, the home team Green Bay Packers earned a fourth one last night, remaining at the fourth position. The entire Packers fraternity, from the players, the coaches to every team official, everyone held the trophy high above their heads.
The Super Bowl being an annual event, the Cowboys Stadium was flooded with glitter as the team was finally presented with the Vince Lombardi Trophy. As he relished the fact that the trophy was once again coming home, coach Mike McCarthy asserted that it was their time. Yes, the Green Bay Packers indeed are the real champions for no body had imagined that the team would push themselves to this outcome. Even two months ago every thing seemed to go out of hand as the team suffered losses to the Detroit Lions and the New England Patriots. However, it was the determination and spirit that made them overcome every game, something that made them the true deserver of the victory.
