Arlington, Feb 7, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Super Bowl XLV turned out to be the ultimate dream come true for all the die-hard fans of the Green Bay Packers as the Wisconsin based team were the big winners of the much-coveted tournament. The desire of the Pittsburgh Steelers to register one more Super Bowl title was cut short as the Packers players looked in no mood to let go of the possibility of winning the prestigious championship. The ultimate showdown between the two teams which was held at the Arlington based Cowboys Stadium witnessed the Green Bay Packers beating their opponent by 31-25, to emerge triumphant, to the utmost delight of their large number of fans gathered at the venue.
The strategy of aggressive defense which was followed by the Green Bay Packers throughout this season, worked wonders during last night’s showdown as well, as it enabled the team to have an upper-hand over their opponent, in turn ensuring their victory. Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers turned out to be the star of the night as he threw three touchdown passes while the team’s defense delivered three turnovers resulting in the victory of the team. This was the fourth Super Bowl title for the Green Bay Packers who have reserved the title in 1968, 1969 as well as in the 1996 season.
While responding to the Packers win, coach Mike McCarthy told reporters later, “It was the great resolve of our football team.” The PacKers coach further noted that although there were some bumps in the third quarter, the team was able to taste victory owing to the tremendous effort that the players showcased.
