Grambling State Registers A Scintillating Victory Against Southern University

New Orleans, Nov 29, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Grambling State registered victory against the Southern University during the 36th Bayou Classic which was held in the Louisiana Superdome on Saturday. The Southern University were defeated by the Grambling State by a score of 31-13 with most of the players of the winning team displaying a stunning performance that ensured their victory.
Grambling team’s running back Frank Warren scored a pair of touchdowns in the second half as well as managed to run for an amazing 166 yards. During halftime, the Grambling team led by a margin of 14-13 but a 13 yard touchdown by Warren ensured that the Tigers take control of the game with a lead of 21-13. Later, the Grambling team again managed to take a lead of 24-13 when Ari Johnson delivered a 24-yard goal. The Tigers had also received two other touchdown in the first half by junior quarterback Greg Dillon, who managed a 8 yard run and Kiarre Thompson running for a 14-yard score.
The Southern players failed to make a mark in the game with Southern quarterback Bryant Lee displaying a disappointing performance with a dismal season low of 138 yards run. Following the defeat- Pete Richardson, coach of the Southern team Jaguars appreciated the winning team’s performance and accepted that the opponent team had completely outplayed them. The coach also admitted that the Grambling team had put immense pressure on his team which ultimately resulted in Southern’s defeat. Meanwhile, in the season the Southern team would be playing their another game next Saturday while the Grambling’s season has already come to an end.
