Lahore, Apr.21 (ANI): Former Pakistan pacer Waqar Younis has held the Government and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) responsible for the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) decision to shift 2011 World Cup matches from the country.

“We are helpless under prevailing circumstances that we can do nothing much against this ruling, because PCB is the one which let the ICC pronounce this ruling,” The News quoted Younis, as saying.

Younis said following the terror attack on Sri Lankan cricket team in Lahore, security cover for foreign players is questionable in the country.

He said that the PCB must start a tournament on the lines of the Indian Premier League (IPL) to win back the confidence of other cricket playing nations.

On chances of Pakistan defeating Australia in the Dubai one-day international series which will be beginning from April 22, Younis said it is the best opportunity for Pakistan to crush the World Champions.

“This is the best chance that Pakistan cricket team has met to defeat gigantic Australia as national team is much balanced this time,” he said.

Younis added that besides the weather conditions, pitches in UAE would also offer help to Pakistan. (ANI)
