Golfer Phil Mickelson Expresses Hope That Tiger Woods Would Be Back Soon

philSan Diego, Jan 28, (THAINDIAN NEWS) While talking about his embattled colleague Tiger Woods, American golfer Phil Mickelson added that the game of golf surely needs its World No. 1 champion. The much acclaimed golfer talked about his arch rival while inaugurating his 2010 season at the Farmer’s Insurance Open on Wednesday.

Although the world’s No. 2 golfer did not want to go into any details about the entire sex scandal involving Tiger Woods, he emphasized that the game needed its champion to come back. At the same time, Phil Mickelson also acknowledged that the disgraced golfer is going through a very delicate phase right now. Moreover, the golfer also expressed concern about the way things have turned out between Tiger Woods and his estranged wife Elin Nordegren, as he has been good friends with both of them. This was the first time that the World No.2 golfer has decided to make public his views about the Tiger Woods scandal and the subsequent media frenzy that followed although it was added that he would not be speaking about the controversy any more.

While talking about his plans for the upcoming season, Phil Mickelson added that irrespective of the presence or the absence of Tiger Woods, he hoped that this year would turn out to be one of the best years of his career. Meanwhile, Tiger Woods has taken an indefinite break from his golfing career owing to the revelations of his multiple extramarital affairs. Reportedly, the ace golfer is presently receiving treatment at a sex rehabilitation center in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. However, its authenticity is in question.
