Golden Ball winner Stoichkov is coach of Bulgarian club Litex
January 6th, 2012 - 8:30 pm ICT by IANSLovech (Bulgaria), Jan 6 (IANS) Hristo Stoichkov, 45, a former Barcelona soccer star and Golden Ball winner, has been named coach of the Bulgarian soccer club Litex.
Stoichkov’s contract has no time limit, Grisha Ganchev, the benefactor of the club, said at a presentation ceremony at the club’s stadium in Lovech, 160 km northeast of Bulgarian capital Sofia.
Litex is the country’s champion for the last two seasons but is running seventh in the the current season.
Stoichkov spent four years as coach of the Bulgarian national team from 2003 to 2007. He was also coach of the Spanish club Celta Vigo (2007).
