New York, Mar 15 (THAINDIAN NEWS) In a candid interview with the Esquire magazine, Gilbert Arenas has confessed that he thinks that he deserves to be punished for taking guns to the locker room. It was a prank that took on a completely different dimension for Gilbert, and also landed him in legal trouble. He wanted to scare his teammate Javaris Crittenton, so he took 4 guns into the locker room.

Now he is very apologetic over his actions, as he thinks that he has dirtied the legacy of the Wizards owner Abe Pollin. “I have a painting of him in my garage. I just walk by it with my head down,” Arenas said. “I called Mrs. Pollin and said, ‘If Abe was still with us, I would’ve had to talk to him, so I’m gonna give you the same respect. I want to say sorry to you. I deserve to be punished. I’ll do everything it takes to get back your husband’s respect.’” Abe Pollins had died in November 2009.

After his prank, Albert also pleaded guilty to a felony gun charge, and is due to be sentenced in the coming week. In view of the legal proceedings, he has been suspended from the NBA, till the end of the season.
