Giggs warns Man U teammates to shape up fast or face dire consequences
September 16th, 2010 - 2:24 pm ICT by ANILondon, Sep 16(ANI): Manchester United midfielder Ryan Giggs has said that the club cannot afford to fall any further behind Premier League champions Chelsea.
United already trail Chelsea by four points after squandering winning positions against Fulham and Everton.
Giggs also said that United has to shape up fast after their disappointing 0-0 draw against Rangers in the Champions League opener.
“When people defend in numbers we usually find a way round them and that’s what was disappointing against Rangers. We were also sloppy away to Everton and Fulham,” The Sun quoted Giggs, as saying.
“Over the last few years you have needed a strong start in the league and mustn’t drop too many points early on. We’re wary of that,” he added.
The midfielder is further eager to see United get their season back on track by beating Liverpool on Sunday. (ANI)
