jonathan sanchezFriday’s game at the At&T Park was doubly blessed for the 26 year old, Jonathan Sanchez; it would be counted as among one of his best matches till date and his father had also been present at the venue during the course of the match. Jonathan’s father Sigfredo had arrived from Puerto Rico on Thursday, just a day prior to the Major League game, and had been able to watch his son perform at his best of form. This was the first time that Jonathan’s father had been present at one of his matches. About his presence, Sigfredo Sanchez said with the help of an interpreter, “Probably God’s decision. My [other] son said to come.”

The San Francisco Giant’s Pitcher Jonathan Sanchez was cheered enthusiastically by his father (who was reportedly quite nervous on behalf of his son) as he pitched his first no-hitter of the Major League Baseball Season. This provided a lot of opportunity for fans of the Giants or Jonathan’s to celebrate and rejoice. That does however restrict others celebrating the presentation of a great and action packed match.

Cameras stayed in focus and zoomed in and out as Sanchez struck out hitter after hitter with the strike of his bat. Sanchez struck out 11 Padres in the path of completing his “no-no”. He hit his third strike against Everth Cabrera to finish as the ‘no hitter’ and the first complete game of his career. He made history with his mind blowing performance against San Diego. 77 of his 110 pitches went on to become full fledged strikes.

The only one other than Sanchez to have thrown a no hitter was Giant’s pitching coach Dave Righetti.
