Ghoshal, Pallikal win national squash titles
December 10th, 2011 - 9:20 pm ICT by IANSChennai, Dec 10 (IANS) Top seeds Saurav Ghoshal and Dipika Pallikal expectedly won the men’s and women’s singles titles in the senior National squash championship that concluded here Saturday.
In the final, defending champion Ghosal overcame a fighting Harinder Pal Singh Sandhu 8-11, 11-6, 11-3, 11-1, in 55 minutes while Pallikal took 31 minutes to wear down second-seeded Anaka Alankamony 11-7, 8-11, 11-4, 11-7 and win her maiden National title, though in the absence of champion Joshna Chinappa, who skipped the event due to injury.
