George Kokinis Sacked

untitled5Nov. 3, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The general manager, George Kokinis of the Cleveland Browns has reportedly been sacked from his position on Monday. He had been earlier escorted by the security out of the team’s building which is at Barea, but this fact was denied by the team. The circumstance under which he left are unexplained as of now, however the team has issued an official statement that “the GM is no longer actively involved with the organization”. On Sunday, the owner of the team, Randy Lerner said that, Eric Mangini who serves as the head coach, will not be fired and that now he is “sick about”, loosing and wanted to hire someone that was, “strong, credible, serious”.

According to other sources, the team may see Ernie Accorsi, becoming the team adviser. Mangini said, “If you can add quality people that can help you get better, than you do that. You’re always searching for opportunities.” Accorsi has already served as the GM of the team from the year of 1985 to 1992.

Kokinis was hired on 23rd January and had been serving as the director of the pro-personnel, for past 6 years for the Ravens. According to sources, the GM was fired “with cause”. The Browns are currently tailing at 1-7. The team suffered a loss of 30-6 on Monday when playing against the Bears. They have a bye-week this weekend. Kokinis has earlier been held responsible for the analyzing of the NFL and also assessing the free agent market. A long time ago, he also assisted in some contract negotiations. He had started with his NFL scouting career in the year 1991, with the Browns. However he had also completed an internship with the same team’s operations department.
