London, June 10 (IANS) Former India captain Sourav Ganguly will lead a Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) side, which will include Brian Lara of the West Indies, in a Twenty20 match against Pakistan at Lord’s June 27.
It will be the first time that an MCC team will feature in a Twenty20 fixture.

Pakistan will be led by Shahid Afridi, who has not played at Lord’s since last year’s World Twenty20 triumph.

Sri Lankan pacer Chaminda Vaas and Australian all-rounder Ian Harvey are also part of the MCC team.

“We are delighted to welcome to Lord’s a Pakistani side who have a proven track record in Twenty20 cricket. Shahid Afridi’s men will face an exciting MCC team comprising world-class performers and up-and-coming talent,” said MCC head of cricket John Stephenson.

“Brian Lara is one of the finest batsmen to have ever played the game and Sourav Ganguly is a world-leading Twenty20 cricketer. The match will provide spectators with a fantastic opportunity to see wonderful cricket and great cricketers.”
